AP Regeneration
+
Example
"Sorry, you're out of action points. You get 1 action point every 20 minutes so come back in about 25 minutes"

Is that normal? --Mad Robert 16:55, 20 March 2006 (GMT)
+
Use a simple, sensible bug title. Provide information about your browser, operating system, character class, and location terrain if necessary.

Did you have 1 AP left and take some action (like swimming or wading through swamp) that uses more than 1 AP?  This would result in -1 AP, so in 25 minutes you'd have 1 AP and be able to take action. --Frisco 17:26, 20 March 2006 (GMT)
+
To use the template, enter the following, but replace emboldened text with text appropriate to your bug report:

Correct Frisco, or at least, that's what I'd have said. I have seen this question before but perhaps I should include the number of AP you have in the message. *EDIT* The AP left is shown on the left-hand panel still so you can see if you're at less than zero. --Simon 23:56, 20 March 2006 (GMT)

** My mistake; had some problem with a recent metamap and noticed that recent submissions' map 6x6 pixels were off by 3 from the edge of the map, turns out they've always been that wayI hadn't realised that someone had submitted a map that was aligned to the top edge, and this messed things up for me.  Sorry for the confusion!

I dropped my machete by mistake due to clumsy fingers. Searching doesn't find it again - surely if I drop something I should be able to pick it up again? --Torok

:Quite right. I have considered implementing semi-sticky objects such that if you drop something, and then search immediately, you'll actually find the thing you dropped, but thought that might annoy rather than actually be useful since often if you drop something you don't want to find it again! --Simon

bug_status=new|
:No, the way I was considering implementing it, if X drops the object, only X would find it. X and Y could both drop separate items but would never specifically find the item the other person dropped (they could find another item with the same name depending on luck though!) The ability to exchange items directly with other people is something that will most likely never be added as this could encourage people to make multiple characters, some of whom only search for specific items and then hand them over to the main character. --Simon

IP Hit Limit 250?
+
Trading text not showing
I have been playing three characters, but hit the IP limit after only moving two of my characters, and then only partially. It seems that it may not have the 250 hit limit as explained. Is it possible that it does not? EDIT- Just moved my three characters. 45AP, 30AP, 75AP, ran out of hits before I used all the points. Killed 3 Outsiders quite awhile back but showing 0's on the new "individual outsider villages" segments & not receiving credit for the kills in the "Stats - Kills" sections.  Thanks. --Dan devito 19:49, 6 April 2006 (BST)

:I don't think Simon was tracking hometown kills until recently and it would be impossible to go back and assign the proper hometowns since that information was never recorded. If you look as some of the high level killers you'll see that despite having 20+ Native kills, they only have a handful of the hometowns accounted for. The Stats - Kills page is currently only listing the top 100 Killers and appears to be updated once daily so it will take some time for recent kills to register on the chart. --Lint 21:12, 6 April 2006 (BST)

Contacts and Drop-Menu Bug
Trading with the trader in Dalpok, I accepted a trade with my last AP. The trader accepted and then I got both the "Sorry, you're out of action points" message and the "Trade same again" button. Are you a new/old trader, is he happy to see you or bored with your presence in his store? Are you using a native character? Either of these conditions could result in over the top price differences, or it could just be a bug! --Simon 15:41, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

* The inventory limit is more of a guideline amount. From time the trader might think you look strong enough to handle an extra couple of bullets and let you go over the normal 70 or backpack 100 limits by one or two items. It's unlikely that you'd be able to go more than 4 over the limit and with recent changes to how inventory works, it's even less likely to cause any problems if you do. --Simon 07:28, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Still wounded after resurrection
Item multiplication in holes
After dying of a Shark attack wound (lose 1 HP per AP until healed with a First Aid kit) my Outsider waited 50AP and contacted the Shaman. I am still recieving the "You lose 1 HP from an old wound. Use a first aid kit to stop the bleeding before you die." message. I have spent 25 AP (and hence HP) attempting to find a FAK. I am morbidly curious to see if I find one before I die of this wound a 2nd time. :: I can only suggest either requesting a heal from other players or to make your way to each hut and find one that contains medical supplies. I believe that the shark bite resembles the infection in Urban Dead so it's most likely you'll still have the wound this second time. To my knowledge, it hasn't been a problem for survivors there and I'm not completely convinced that it is a problem for characters here. However, I can agree that is seems a bit out of theme for the wound to persist after being resurrected and wouldn't object to a change. --Lint 00:05, 16 March 2006 (GMT)

::: 2nd resurrection and still was wounded. Found a FAK with another 4 AP searching. I agree that the behaviour matches UDs 'infection-after-revive' but there is a better thematic justification there. It seems inconsistent that being trampled to death by an elephant (say) is something that the Shamanistic process can reverse, rebuild or remove (you come back with full HP) but a shark attack/bite does some kind of damage to either your teleported body (presuming that resurrection uses your old meat) or to your spirit (presuming resurrection uses your metaphysical self as a kind of template for a rebuild) that the Shaman ignores or cannot deal with. I have no problem with it (makes island hopping that much harder *grin*), but would prefer to see you come back with half HP (like UD) to indicate that the process is less than perfect across the board. I logged in today to see the pirate class implemented and I was like sweet! I tried to make one but it gave me an error message about picking conflicting villages when I picked both random village and shipwreck. It strikes me as related to Bugs:Fixed#Redirect_on_login_to_//game.cgi.  game.cgi calls itself with the action of the logout button - and doesn't redirect itself to the shartak.com/ when the current character is logged out. --Johan Crichton 08:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
My cutlass broke(I had only one) and I was still able to pick "cutlass" in the attack choices right afterwards, I logged out then back in to check if it persisted and it did not. === Can't read foreign language even with Expert Skill? ===

Levels.cgi : level 34 cap
My native died near the pirate shipwreck, and is currently on the square where the "pirate shaman" is. A message is written in the sand that is gibberish. My native has all the foreign language skills, and its possible this really is just gibberish someone decided to write, but it looks the way untranslated words look, so may be a bug. --Jackel 21:42, 4 April 2006 (BST)

: *raises hand* That was me. My native character up there cannot read outsider language. I was curious to find out what would happen if I copied and pasted (or "traced over in the sand") the outsider "gibberish" that I saw already written there. ===Clear All Jungle with an Old Wound ===
My character killed a parrot, and then went on to find a banana tree to restore some hp.  Whenever I ate the banana, I got something along the lines of "You restored 1 HP to the Parrot."  this was on a different square then I used to kill the parrot.  Also, I moved to a different tree (mango) and got the same response.  I had 70/80 HP at the time.  I received 1 XP for each time.  Why is this happening?--Gandhi 20:19, 8 April 2006 (BST)

This page is for adding reports of possible bugs. Once the bug has been confirmed, it can be moved into the Known Bugs section.

Before reporting a bug, you might want to check Not Bugs just in case it's actually not a bug.

Bugs that have been resolved and older than a week, can be found at Bugs:Fixed.

Example

Use a simple, sensible bug title. Provide information about your browser, operating system, character class, and location terrain if necessary.

To use the template, enter the following, but replace emboldened text with text appropriate to your bug report:

Bug Title
Turned off GPS Unit drop bug.

Timestamp: 18:08, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Logged by: Htkl
Status: new
Severity: low
Description: Just tried to drop 10 turned off GPS units, but found that it only dropped one, Also tried with different numbers and only dropped one at a time.

Comments
It might be that the turned off GPS had different charges, so the game treated them as different objects. – Wulla (talk) 18:16, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

In that case it should probably be changed to drop the least charged ones first, then when you drop ten at once you wouldn't have to worry about it dropping ones at full power. --Buttercup 21:25, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I second the motion that the drop code treats them as seperate objects due to % left, managed to drop two at a time earlier when I chose to drop 9, happened 2 or 3 times, not a major issue though as dropping doesn't take AP *-* Buzzmong 16:18, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Contacts and Drop-Menu Bug

Timestamp: 03:40, 28 December 2007(UTC)
Logged by: --Marvin 03:40, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Status: new
Severity: low
Description: I was using my native alt when I found a lone outsider so I started to attack, I added him to my contacts so I could see his HP and name then went back to attacking but I couldn’t, I soon noticed when I used the drop down bar it read “Outsider” (which I selected to attack and wasn’t working), below that was “The Law” (the Name). I could only attack “The Law”.

Trading

Timestamp: 00:24, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Logged by: One of many doctors
Status: new
Severity: low
Description: I'm at trader Harry's hut in York and decide to trade gold coins for gems. He says:
You ask to trade your gold coins for his gems. Trader Harry makes you an offer, "Gems are in short supply so I want more than the usual price. I want thirty four gold coins for a gem"

When I try to trade gems for gold coins he says: You ask to trade your gems for his gold coins.

Trader Harry makes you an offer, "I'll give you four gold coins for a gem"

Comments
Are you a new/old trader, is he happy to see you or bored with your presence in his store? Are you using a native character? Either of these conditions could result in over the top price differences, or it could just be a bug! --Simon 15:41, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Probably old Outsider. He keeps saying something about how there's an entire island to explore, but I don't see how that can account for a 850% price difference. --One of many doctors 01:30, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
It's a "feature" of the trading, although it does seem a little harsh. --Simon 12:49, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
"blunt knives are in short supply so I want more than the usual cost. I want two knives for a blunt knife." today. This isn't a glitch but you should still fix it. why don't we suggest blunt and non-blunt weapons being added together for the price? --AlexanderRM 00:30, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
You mean make the blunt knife and knife have the same value? Ideally the trader would just ignore the short supply modifier for blunt machete/cutlass/knife and that would probably make it a straight swap. --Simon 07:39, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Haggling Text when Selling

Timestamp: 23:39, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Logged by: Johan Crichton
Status: new
Severity: low
Description: When you're selling items to a trader, if you have haggling you get a message about the trader not prepared to lower his prices (IIRC). Shouldn't it be that the trader isn't prepared to pay more?

Comments
What's the difference between selling items and buying items when no money is changing hands, just different quantities of goods? Do you mean when you're trying to get fewer items back than what you're giving him? --Simon 10:04, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Buying Items over Inventory limit

Timestamp: 03:20, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Logged by: Johan Crichton
Status: unlikely to be fixed
Severity: low
Description: While I don't think I could trade for more items to carry, it was possible for me to buy (with gold) the item putting my invsize at 72 / 70. This seems wrong?

Comments
It's probably a bit late, but do you remember what item you bought and how many of them you bought in one go? --Simon 07:36, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm thinking it was bullets (if I recall correctly that you can buy several bullets for a single gold coin) but aren't 100% sure of that.--Johan Crichton 10:27, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Trying to buy multiple fruit seemed to be prevented by the trader being concerned about my load - couldn't try with rifle bullets as they were out of stock. --Johan Crichton 01:34, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
 • The inventory limit is more of a guideline amount.

Item multiplication in holes

Timestamp: 13:38, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Logged by: Xintlaer
Status: new
Severity: critical
Description: I dug the maximal depth of hole right south of the pirate shaman. Then I dropped a blowpipe into it, yet it didn't dissapear from my inventory, so I repeated it three times. Afterwards I filled the hole with earth up to the top, and the blowpipe was still in my inventory. When I dug back into the ground I found 3 blowpipes... I believe that this may lead to item multiplying and players multiplying their gold to insane amounts.
