This is a list of historical events that happened on Shartak during 2009.
January
- The new constitution of the Peninsular Federation, a political union of Derby and Port Breton superceding the slowly disintegrating Eastern Federation, was drafted by Baron Surcouf. The concept of a new ruling power in Derby was enthusiastically received by its citizens.
- The Greater Shartak Unification Coalition maintained its siege of Wiksik, appointed a military governor, and re-named it New York . An Island Alliance was proposed by the Kingdom of Skulls for the purposes of stopping bloodshed across Shartak including the attack on Wiksik, and resolving the competing claims to the ruins north of Durham known Fort Creedy and Great Southall. Negotiations over the Alliance treaty also served as a vehicle for the GSUC's claim to the ruins known as Chastity or The Pirate's Rest near the shipwreck. The Alliance was immediately rejected by the Pirate High Command and the Rakmogaki Collective.
