When a new player begins, they can only understand the language of the race they belong too (outsider or native, throughout the course of the game, one can learn the language of other races.  Currently, one can check this page, [[Language]], to see how natives or outsiders understand some common words of the opposite language.  These skills are not required for the beginner player, but will greatly increase the enjoyment of role playing.

Language Skills

When a new player begins, they can only understand the language of the race they belong too (outsider or native), throughout the course of the game, one can learn the language of other races. Currently, one can check this page, Language, to see how natives or outsiders understand some common words of the opposite language. These skills are not required for the beginner player, but will greatly increase the enjoyment of role playing.


Basic language

Understand the smaller words of foreign languages

Picking out a few words from the strange looking pirates, Tameno couldn't understand why they wanted that much beer, and what possibly could they use it for. Perhaps if she understood it better she would realize they were talking about weaponry, and attacking a secure native outpost.

Advanced language

Better understanding of foreign languages - Requires Basic Language to learn.

Johnny the Hedgehog scowled as his natives captors talked about him. He knew what they were planning, what the plans were for their attack on York, and now, all he needed to do was to get away. Johnny hoped one of them would mention a key to his chains or something.

Expert language

Full comprehension of foreign languages - Requires Advanced Language to learn.

Foreign Writing

Not only can you understand foreign languages, you can also write it well enough to be understood - Requires Expert Language to learn.

The letter needed the correct inflection to it, the last thing Anthor wanted to do was accidently insult the dignitary from Durham. He didn't want to cause a massive war due to the fact he put an accent in the wrong place. The native word for Peace was extremely similar to the outsider word for War.

Foreign Speech

Not only can you understand foreign languages, you can also speak it well enough to be understood - Requires Expert Language to learn.
