Demon Bear of Wiksik
There was once an ancient legend whispered among the elders and kings of old that spoke of a chaotic beast which dwelt beneath the village of Wiksik. Some of the men were driven to madness, others to greed; the story was long-forgotten and one by one each of them succumbed to the darkness, where they died alone. Wiksik has endured many wars since then, but something has shaken the monster from it's quiet grave.
There is a new king under the mountain. It wears no crown and seldom sees the sun. It drinks from the spring of life and eats of the spoils of war, watching and waiting in the shadows.
It is The Demon Bear of Wiksik. You have summoned it with your wars and your bombs and your guns and you shall never be rid of it now.
Chance Meeting
Rumbles.
All around it where rumbles.
The beast with tiny eyes looked around. It's humongous bulk looked entirely too big for the tunnel it was in, yet it walked through easily enough. The cave seem to part for this gigantic creature, only to shrink down behind it. The beast sat on it's haunches, to which the ceiling moved for it to allow this.
"I hear the world rumbling...." he said to the darkness.
"Ah, Demon, finally awakening are you?"
The bear lunged forward till it was eye to eye to the person that addressed him. A gentlemen dressed in fine silk didn't flinch or move, but smiled. "Hello Demon, it's been awhile, hasn't it?"
"Who might you be?" said the bear curiously.
The man turned his back to the bear head, "Fenris old demon, I am the beast who devours all."
"Impossible," said the bear, laughing, "Fenris would never reside in a simplistic man like this one."
"Oh, I'm simply hiding right now, forces conspired against me in my last vessel, I wish to remain anonymous this time around."
"Why doesn't this rumbling stop then," spoke the Demon Bear.
The man known as Fenris smiled, "The city you have resided under for centuries is in a state of perputual chaos. Different factions claim rule, mad kings think they represent the whole, and in the middle, the populace suffers. In other words, a great time for you to return Demon Bear."
The bear chuckled, "You are quite right Fenris. It is." He let out a gigantic roar, bats flew out of the caverns in fear, rats died on the spot, and even giant spiders paused in their ceaseless journeys to find food. "Time for War."
