General Information
Campfires ward off animal attacks, and give comfort and warmth to the inhabitants on Shartak during those long lonely nights. With the skill Survival - Firecraft, one can make a fire for cheaper amount of AP.
Required Items
To make a fire, one needs at least four items: driftwood/deadwood, tinder, a sharpening stone, and a dagger/knife.
Driftwood

- Needed for - Driftwood can be turned into tinder for 3AP (reduced to 1AP if one knows the skill Survival - Firecraft). Also, at least one piece is needed to start the fire. The more pieces you add will cause the fire to burn hotter and longer.
Deadwood

Wildfire
If lit in a Jungle square with any density, or on the grasslands, a fire has a chance to start a wildfire. If standing on the square when the fire starts, the message in game will look like this "Some of the sparks settle on dry vegetation and set the area on fire!", and your character will take ten points of damage. For every action done on a burning square, your character will take 5 points of damage. Your character will also take 1 point of damage per hour standing on a burning square. Wildfires can be stopped by pouring water onto a burning tile (putting out the fire this way will yield 4XP) or letting it burn itself out. A wildfire can spread to any adjacent jungle square (As long as it has density) or grassland squares. Fire will not spread to a Burnt Jungle or Burnt Grassland square. Fire cannot spread to a settlement or village square (the squares labelled "Raktam", "Derby", "Rakmogak" and so on) but can spread to squares on the mountain path, squares with cave entrances or even ruins. The latter will be named "Burning Ruins" while burning and work the same as burning jungle, but characters indoors won't take any fire damage.
Firefighting Techniques
The most common Firefighting Technique is to clear jungle along the edge of the fire, limiting where it can spread and leaving it to burn out. Fires can spread diagonally and quickly spread through any gaps so make sure to chop a solid line of squares. Another method is to pour water on burning squares to put them out, if a source of fresh or salt water is nearby and one has healing supplies to spare.
