Special characters are NPCs that appear on Shartak on special occasions and disappear the rest of the year.
- Santa appeared for the first (and so far only time) during the Christmas period of 2006.
- Two elves accompanied Santa in his grotto. They became frequent targets of attack by some visitors.
- Easter bunnies appear regularly during Easter.
- Zombified animals and werewolves appear during Halloween.
