Scattered about the island are a number of items that can be found. Some things tend to be found more in the camps and villages, other things are more likely to be found in the jungle.

Weapons

Dagger

  • Base damage: 1 point
  • Base accuracy: 20%
  • Locations: Ruins

A native knife. More accurate than a fist.

Knife

  • Base damage: 1 point
  • Base accuracy : 20%
  • Locations: Villages

Required for writing messages on trees or huts. More accurate than a fist.

Blunt Machete

  • Base damage: 1 point
  • Base accuracy: 20%
  • Locations: Villages, Jungle

Can be used to chop through jungle or for attacking animals and people. Doesn't always succeed in chopping the jungle. Using a sharpening stone, the blunt machete can be sharpened to become a machete.

Machete

  • Base damage: 2 points
  • Base accuracy: 20%
  • Locations: Villages, Jungle

Rather useful for chopping through the jungle, and also for dealing more damage than just punching. "Machetes can become broken and useless during combat - try carrying a spare." --Wurzug 12:34, 5 April 2006 (BST)

Blunt Cutlass

  • Base damage: 1 point
  • Base accuracy: 20%
  • Locations: Ship

Can be used to chop through jungle or for attacking animals and people. Doesn't always succeed in chopping the jungle. Seems identical to blunt machete Using a sharpening stone, the blunt cutlass can be sharpened to become a cutlass.

Cutlass

  • Base damage: 2 points
  • Base accuracy: 20%
  • Locations: Ship

Rather useful for chopping through the jungle, and also for dealing more damage than just punching. Starting equipment for Pirate. Seems identical to machete

I managed to get a lucky stab in with the cutlass and received the following blurb. This might be random across all weapons.
You can also get "lucky" and have your blade break you lose the cutlass when this happens.

Maybe it's luck or maybe it's skill, your attack is right on target and inflicts more damage than normal. You attack the elephant for 5 damage. It drops to 4 HP.
Unlucky or just clumsy? The blade snaps off and you're left holding the handle, which you discard.

Heavy Sword

  • Base damage: 4 points
  • Base accuracy: 20%
  • Locations: Jungle (?)
  • Used by: Outsiders (Natives?? UNVERIFIED!)

Seems to be a quite capable weapon, ready to deal signifigant melee damage.

Blowpipe

  • Base damage: 4 points
  • Base accuracy: 20%
  • Locations: Villages, Ruins
  • Used by: Natives (Outsiders require the Native Knowledge skill)

Miscellaneous

Gold Coins

Well it's gold, perhaps if I find a boat and get off this island I can trade it! You can toss a coin in the air and see if it lands heads or tails.

Trader Harry, in York, will give you, for 1 gold coin: 5 rifle bullets 2 bottles of water

For 3 gold coins, he'll give you a rifle.

Piece of Driftwood

The driftwood looks pretty useless.

Sharpening Stone

Used to sharpen blunt machetes and blunt cutlasses. Does a Sharpening Stone ever break or get used up?

Poisonous Snake

I have no idea what this is for.

Crab

Can't figure out how to use a crab.

Gem

You can trade it for stuff. Trader Harry, in York will give you, for 1 gem (each): 2 rifles 4 first aid kits 7 cutlasses (if he had them) 9 gold coins 60 rifle bullets (if he had them)

You get the idea. They're good to have.

GPS Unit

Shows the location of your character.

Coordinates are in the form [-70.366, 26.443], where the first number is the X coordinate (longitude) and the second is the Y coordinate (latitude). Moving a single square represents a change in coordinate in that direction of 0.001.

Seems that signal is available only in non dense jungle areas.--Wcervantes 19:00, 16 February 2006 (GMT)
