The Founding of the 1st Colonial Militia
The 1st Colonial Militia was founded after the Third Invasion of York. Many of the highly ranked Militiamen fought in the defense of York against an alliance of Mercenaries and Pirates. After the many skirmishes were over little had changed. York was safe from cutthroats but like Derby and Durham, not safe from the high taxes and foreign government associated with being a colony. A Declaration of Independence was voiced; it was time for the Colonials of Shartak to govern themselves and oust the foreign powers such as Britain and the Dutch. The need for an outsider force who could oust the Imperial governors and their troops and be responsible for the protection of the three outsider towns from pirates and natives was essential. Thus the 1st Colonial Militia was born. Made up of those fighting men who bravely volunteered to fight for the freedom of a new nation and defend others with their own lives, the 1st is made up of people from every walk of life; from soldiers to scientists.

Objectives
- Independence for the Colonial Towns from foreign powers.
- To safeguard the homes and livelihoods of outsiders in York, Derby and Durham.
- To search and destroy any hostile pirate crews present on the island.
- To support the election of new, stable governors and government of the three outsider towns.
- To defend against any hostile natives.
- To find and punish all those found collaborating with the enemies of the common good.
