Background

The Kingdom Of Skulls (KOS) is a pro-native clan ruled from the Skull Throne in Wiksik. The official in-game clan page may be found here.

The KOS was founded to serve a number of in-game purposes:

  • Promotion of the roleplaying aspect of the Shartak MMORPG.
  • Creation of an active pro-native organisation.
  • Offer assistance to new native characters.
  • Inclusion of all character types.

The KOS organises itself in-game and via discussion threads on the Native section of the official Shartak forum.

News

28/05/2008 - THE SKULL THRONE IS NOW OCCUPIED

The Grand Tyrant has returned to Wiksik after a successful raid on the shipwreck. Additional particpants included the Royal Court of Raktam and the Republic of Fort Creedy.

More new members have joined the Kingdom this week. Greet them kindly should you see them on your travels. Be advised that a violent Wiksik called Nekrotzar has been killing members of the KOS who are from outside Wiksik. We are attempting a peaceful resolution of this matter before turning to red slaughter. More news will be forthcoming soon.

ManBearPig has encountered members of the 1st Colonial Militia near Wiksik. They are a diseased group of outsiders who enjoy killing natives. The Skull Throne will pay 5 GC bounty for every head taken from member of the 1CM. Underworld logs (see character Settings button on main Shartak screen) will be accepted as evidence. Boasting at the Skull Throne is also encouraged :)

The pirate Eptavian (http://www.shartak.com/profile.cgi?id=1924) has come to the Skull Throne as an ambassador from Fort Creedy on the Durham Peninsula. Please do not raise your hand against him as he is a known friend to natives.. Want an ad in our newspaper? Make sure you are satisfied with it, then upload it. There are no restrictions on what type of ad you upload, just remember to keep it in character. There is no cost for having an ad in Jungle Drums, but that's likely to change in the future.

21/05/2008 - INITIAL NEWS

Welcome to the Kingdom Of Skulls. Thanks to everyone for joining the clan, we've got a good cross-section of players to help mix things up a little. I expect we'll have more members soon when the next round of invites goes out.

The Skull Throne is in Wiksik in the hut directly E of the ammo hut. It's currently unoccupied but I'll be back to Wiksik in a few days once the raid on the shipwreck is finished.

I've posted a map of the Kingdom on the official Shartak forum in the Natives section. If you haven't already done so, check it out and have a chuckle at the reaction to the territorial claims.

I've also set up a placeholder page on the Shartak wiki. ManBearPig (AKA Wulla Mullung) has offered to help with page design. If you have any suggestions, use the Wiki talk page for now.

Regards communications, I'm leaning towards the clan news and using open threads on the Shartak forum rather than closed clan boards elsewhere. Pros: one stop shop for Shartak news, friendly to newer players. Cons: might cause IP hit issues for those who run alts.

Once we get the Skull Throne occupied, first order of business will be recruiting newer players and helping them get started. Followed by a sustained hunting expedition to the SE, S, and SW of Wiksik. Any other suggestions welcome.

Currently there is only one rule: when writing an article, you must not use information you obtained with another character. This means that if one of your characters whom is not the character writing the article sees or hears something, or if they have access to secret information, you may not use that information when writing said article. There is no problem if you use information obtained with the character writing the article or information that is accessible to everyone.

Notes:

  • The above is a territory map, not a map of jungle density (which constantly changes). Therefore, the jungle and village squares will very likely be coloured differently in-game than they are here. Squares within the village will be displayed as "Wiksik" on the game map, while jungle squares will be displayed as "Jungle".
  • The numbers on the map are merely for local reference and are not related to GPS coordinates at all.
