Background

Shartak is a lost jungle island which supports headhunting natives, stranded pirates, great white explorers and angry spirits. Mapped, analysed and divided up into neat, ordered territories it is a tropical Paradise indeed.

And yet not all of Shartak's mysteries have scientifically explained. Those who have walked the paths between this world and the next have seen them - spirits trapped in torment, unable to cross over fully to the aetherial realm - pirates who have jumped ship from the Flying Dutchman, white men who have made pacts with the dark forces of Shartak and natives who have cast off their earthly bodies.

There are strange things abroad in the jungle. Screams split the night. Survivors huddle in fear and cry of demon-possessed warriors who bring death and madness. The shaman speak of the return of trapped spirits, spirits seeking the blood and souls of the living - they are The Damned.

FAQ

Q: Who can join?
A: Anyone. No class or home camp restrictions.

Q: How can I join?
A: You can join by seeking out one of The Damned in-game or leaving a message on the talk page.

Q: What are the requirements for joining?
A: A sense of humour. A sense of mischievousness. A sense of fair play. A grasp of the basics of roleplaying. A desire to terrorise the inhabitants of Shartak and have fun whilst doing so.

Q: That's it?
A: A few caveats. If you have a cuddly character then this group is not for you. If your character has other group, clan or political affiliations then this group is probably not for you. If you are a totally green player to Shartak then this group is probably not for you. If you have not explored and exhausted other gaming and roleplaying avenues then this group is probably not for you.

Q: Isn't this group just another version of The Scavengers?
A: There are similarities. Armadox, founder of The Scavengers, dedicated himself to the slaughter of the pathetic huddled masses; he would be a good role model for members of The Damned. However the Scavengers clan suffers from a terminal lack of players willing to even attempt to live up to the example set by Armadox. It should also be noted that The Scavengers have no sense of group loyalty.

Q: What about other player-killer (PK) groups?
A: What about them? With the exception of the Wicksick Headhunters, they are generally a sad bunch of attention-seeking trolls who lack imagination, common decency and any concept of fun. The majority have little or no respect for their fellow players at all. They will, however, make good victims.

Q: Who do you expect to join this group?
A: Good question. The best, simplest answer is that The Damned is for those who are not yet ready to rest in peace.
