− | ==HISTORY==
| |
− | | |
− | The Divine Purpose was first realised by a native of Dalpok. After the increasing amount of death caused by raids, personal issues and conflict, this native became troubled. The native left his home town and began a lengthy pilgramage to the centre of Shartak, the mountain and the surrounding jungle, where he lived for months. He observed the natural cycle of predator and prey and compared it to the conflict around him. Ever since the outsiders came to the island, the level of conflict had been steadily increasing, among the native settlements as well as the outsider's towns.It was becoming more and more common to stumble across a dead body while walking in the jungle. At first he blamed the presence of the outsiders and pirates, but then realised that there had been conflict even before they came. This was when the first realisation of the Divine Purpose.
| |
− | After spending months living as a hermit, he realised that he must kill in order to defend himself from wandering outsiders. As he became more and more attuned to the Divine Path he realised that all deaths on the island were necessary sacrifices that go towards the achievement of the Divine Purpose. It was not long before he ceased to distinguish between native and outsider, stalking someone for days in order to create a perfect sacrifice.
| |
− | Eventually he returned to Dalpok and began preaching and practicing the Divine Path.
| |
− | Long after this individual's death, spirits and other such creatures have picked up on his goal and realisation and continue to practice sacrifice to convince the living to bring The Divine Hand into being.
