York Medical Hut. 16th May 07.

The most horrendous and large-scale mass-murder that has ever taken place on Shartak soil (not counting Santa's Grotto), occurred earlier today. One assailant, known only as "{{profile||JazDararsWife}}", burst into York's bustling and ever-busy [[York#Points_of_interest|medical hut]] around midday, according to eye-witness reports. The assailant burst inside, and immediately carved something on the wall (what this message was is now lost in the confusion that followed), and without any notice began murdering one person after another. The maniac killed at least 21 people within minutes. The murderer is reported to have been wielding a [[heavy sword]] during the ordeal, and is reported to have shouted in a disturbing and less-than-sane voice, "You will all join your brethren in hell" and "Mere mortals tremble in my presence", while slaughtering the helpless victims. Those few who survived are still dazed and confused at this shocking occurrence.

In the aftermath of this atrocity, the finger is being pointed in all directions. Many blame the lack of shamans in York of late, because this maniac's mass-killing spree was preceded by dozens of [[banshee wail]]s, which softened the people up. Others blame the lack of protection provided by the [[Colonial Police]], who are in a transition state while leadership is being transfered, and were all exhausted from their extensive celebrations the night before, thus were not able to offer much protection. Still others point to the lack of multiple exits from the medical hut as a cause of the particularly high amount of bloodshed.

Still unknown in the immediate, and the subject of some speculation by the townspeople, are the motive of the maniac "JazDararsWife" in this senseless massacre. The whereabouts of the killer also remained unknown.
