|}

*"Frequency" is the number of times an animal attacks in a half-hour period, "Accuracy" is its apparent attack accuracy, and "Damage" is its normal attack damage.

When you attack an animal you receive XP equal to the damage listed for the weapon you used. Killing an animal yields an additional bonus, as listed in the "XP Bonus" column. (For example, if a monkey has 1 HP remaining when you kill it with a machete that deals 3 HP of damage, your action gives you 3 XP for the damage and 8 for the kill, totalling 11.)

Unseen animals
Sharks cannot be seen or attacked. They have a random chance to attack instantly when a player swims in deep water. A shark attack deals 2 HP damage, and the resulting wounds deal 1 HP damage per action (not per AP) until the player dies or is healed with a first aid kit or healing herbs. <!-- Revives heal all wounds according to Game_Design#Persistent_Shark_Bites --> The effects of shark wounds are not cumulative.

Poisonous snakes cannot be seen or attacked. A character who is searching grasslands can capture a poisonous snake, which then appears in inventory. Searching the grasslands can also cause you to get bitten by a snake for 3 HP damage (the snake then slithers away).

Crabs cannot be seen or attacked. A character who is searching beaches can capture a crab, which then appears in inventory, or be pinched by one for 1 HP damage. ("Searching the area, you find a crab. It nips your finger with its claws and scuttles away".)

Punching large animals
When missing a punch against an elephant, large stag, or tiger, special messages may display:

* You attack the elephant and miss. Suddenly attacking the elephant with your bare hands doesn't seem so clever!
* You attack the elephant and miss. Pausing a moment to reflect on this, tackling the elephant with your bare hands might be considered crazy!
Shore Leave
The Crew has inflicted much violence on the village of Dalpok. The total body count is uncertain (few have posted their exploits below) but estimates say that dozens of natives fell to the crew's cutlasses. As such, and because the Sailing Master and other members of the crew complained that the workmanship of their cutlasses was suspect so that they were resorting to spitting and pummeling the natives to death, the Captain is now satisfied in calling the raid a success. All members of the crew in the area have liberty to kill as many more as they like before returning to the strumpet for their rations of grog, or further exploring the island as they will while the Captain and senior crew discuss the location of the next raid.
When the crew left for the raid they were tied with tea-swilling monarchists for dominance of the island. In as little as two weeks the ranks have swelled to DOUBLE what they were when we left. The Captain be pleased to see so many lime-eating parrot perches have returned to the crew. They are invited to enjoy their shore leave with those who participated in the raid as the Captain and senior crewmembers deliberate on the location of our next raid.
Stoertebecker says "Correct your clan before others have to do it." (2006-06-15 14:02)

The Captain does not generally respond favorably to threats, and questions any foreign influence's authority to punish a member of the crew. Still, he is appreciative that the multiple character abuse of Mr. Badhammer has been brought to light, evidence has been provided, and the Crew has been given an opportunity to address the matter themselves before any other action is taken. If one were to recall all previous announcements of the clan at no time was zerging promoted or encouraged. Captain Whitney would normally decide that this was a personal offense to be corrected by the parties assaulted by the zerg, but since it was done during an official raid of The Scurvy Crew putative measures shall be taken.

MR. BADHAMMER!!
You are hereby stripped of your rank as Quartermaster until such time as you can demonstrate the removal of the zerg and after a reasonable period of good conduct. You are henceforth demoted to the rank of Able Bodied Seaman. You are also commanded to report to the deck of the Strumpet by Saturday morning to be flogged, 50 lashes with the cutlass. If you do not report to the deck any member of the Crew has liberty to kill Mr. Badhammer once, but only once. If one examines him and discovers that another member of the crew has already punished him he is to remain unharmed. In any case it is recomended that Mr. Badhammer report to the Strumpet for his lashes to preserve his own, and The Scurvy Crew's, reputation and honor. After which this matter shall be considered concluded and Mr. Badhammer will be free to rejoin the crew and resume his duties of drinking, plundering, and murder. Any further retaliation against Mr. Badhammer by any agent shall be considered an offense against the Scurvy Crew as a whole. If Mr. Badhammer continues his zerging he shall be expelled from the Scurvy Crew in disgrace.

It is the Captain's wish that this matter set precedent for the punishment of any similar offences. Evidence must be provided, and the Crew given opportunity to administer their own discipline.

Mr. Cath, the Sailing Master, has informed the Captain that Mr. Badhammer reported to the deck of the Strumpet and has taken his lashes. With this offense now punished the case of Mr. Badhammer shall be considered closed. If any member of the crew sees fit to give Mr. Badhammer a pint of rum to ease his suffering the Captain will look the other way...

Tracking gives players information about recent animal and human tracks if they have the skill basic tracking. Players track by clicking the "Look for Tracks" button, which costs 2 AP for basic trackers and gives message such as "A wild boar went south." Tracking is not random; repeated tracking attempts on the same location will yield exactly the same results until new tracks are left. Only the next square of the creature's wanderings will be given, so following a trail is an AP-intensive process.

Advanced tracking reduces the cost of tracking to 1.5 AP. It will allow a tracker to see up to half a dozen tracks (in a well-travelled area) and will describe tracks as being "quite recent", "recent", "several days [old]", etc.

Untrackable terrain
In certain locations, tracking attempts will not use any AP but will instead yield a message: "You can't make out any kinds of tracks in these surroundings." You cannot track in:
* water: including deep water, waterfall, river
* swamp
* grey tunnel: including mountain path, tunnel, cave-in, (dark cave unverified)

Note: you are able to track on the mountain ledge - the path of green-brown jungle squares at the top of the waterfall and mountain paths.

Tracking skill tree
* Basic tracking - With some difficulty, you can track animals and people.
** Advanced tracking - You can track animals and people who were here recently.
*** Expert tracking - You can track animals and people who were here several days ago.
**** Tracking mastery - Tracking animals and people is nearly effortless.
They are invited to enjoy their shore leave with those who participated in the raid as the Captain and senior crewmembers deliberate on the location of our next raid.
Learning an initial skill costs 100 XP. After that, each learned skill costs 25 XP more than the previous one. Hence the formula for a skill's XP cost is 100 + 25 * (your level). (Your character's level, which you can see in your profile, is the number of skills you have learned.)

The Raktamites are worldly ignorant, but are avidly seeking knowledge and the advancement of all villagers from Raktam.

The first development has been the establishment of Wurzug's healing hut. This is located in the northern part of the village and is not only our spiritual leaders home but also a place to seek healing and/or the means to do so.
News
Phutnanog has finally returned to the comfort of Wurzug's Healing Hut after his exploits in York. He has brought home many outsider feet to use as training tools to aid in the further advancement of foot care in Raktam. Please remember that good foot care is essential for the spiritual wellbeing of all Raktamites.

Wurzug has been following in Gretchin's footsteps by attempting to find the Pirates encampment. An unfortunate encounter with a Yorkist has meant that instead he is learning to commune more closely with the great Spirit.--Wurzug 13:59, 17 May 2006 (BST)

Gretchin has returned home. It appears that there are lots of outsider to kill! Return home my brothers and sisters, Raktam needs us!

Jabberwockee has remained in Raktam. He primarily looks after the wounded and sick, but occasionally finds that he must fight hard against the growing number of outsiders. He has noted a dwindling in the number of these invaders, however; things are looking up.

Charissa has returned to raktam after a perilous journey to the southeastern edge of the island. She has now pledged to defend Raktam and heal the sons and daughters of Raktam. Even the animals are very dangerous nowadays, with the black influence of the outsiders.
