I just created the page ''[[Special weapon event odds]]'' in the hopes that we'll be able to approximate odds for weapon breakage, dullage, and extra-damage-age as you and others have for searches. Any time you can invest in the project will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! — [[User:Elembis|Elembis]] 12:03, 21 May 2006 (BST)

* Multiple stages to build it seems reasonable, probably not a high AP cost as such, 2AP to build another section, but each section requires say 5 driftwood and it takes 50 "sections" to build a complete hut, thus the AP cost is in collecting the driftwood making beach huts more likely than mountain huts.

* Only building on zero density jungle - does that mean you have to chop down the jungle before you get to build a section, even if there's a partly built hut already here?* For being able to 'extend' it, I would suggest probably just get to have a short bit of description that can be edited and shown when inside the hut, perhaps another bit for the outside. Only the owner would be able to edit it obviously, but by short we're talking 200-230 characters max so really not a huge amount. Do you think this would be a problem? Are people going to want to write essays for the description? I mean, it's just a hut!

Special weapon event odds

I just created the page Special weapon event odds in the hopes that we'll be able to approximate odds for weapon breakage, dullage, and extra-damage-age as you and others have for searches. Any time you can invest in the project will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! — Elembis 12:03, 21 May 2006 (BST)

Hut idea feedback

I like it, it's quite a decent summary of the thoughts that myself and a couple of others have already discussed.

  • Minimum level requirement could be done by having a minimum level required to get the construction skill - not something that's actually coded right now, but wouldn't be too hard.
  • Item "Construction Toolkit" or similar easy to add. I like the idea of getting them from traders only. How expensive would you suggest? I would think, given that it's a complete toolkit, probably the equivalent of 30 gold coins would be reasonable ($3000 according to Tycho's trading chart).
  • Multiple stages to build it seems reasonable, probably not a high AP cost as such, 2AP to build another section, but each section requires say 5 driftwood and it takes 50 "sections" to build a complete hut, thus the AP cost is in collecting the driftwood making beach huts more likely than mountain huts.
  • Maintenance requiring driftwood is feasible - simply reduce the number of completed sections by X every Y days (X = 1, Y = 14 perhaps?)
  • I would imagine that anyone can carry on building or reinforcing the hut once it's been started.
  • Only building on zero density jungle - does that mean you have to chop down the jungle before you get to build a section, even if there's a partly built hut already here?* For being able to 'extend' it, I would suggest probably just get to have a short bit of description that can be edited and shown when inside the hut, perhaps another bit for the outside. Only the owner would be able to edit it obviously, but by short we're talking 200-230 characters max so really not a huge amount. Do you think this would be a problem? Are people going to want to write essays for the description? I mean, it's just a hut!
