(Name is tentative--open to suggestions there)

This is an outsider-only clan. Pirates and outsiders are welcome, but, sadly, we can't have natives. It would just get confusing. We'd end up attacking clanmembers too frequently for my tastes. The Mountaineers are not exclusive; you can be a mountaineer and a member of any other group. In fact, it is encouraged that, if you are in any other group, you list yourself first as a member of that group. You need not mark yourself in your profile as a Mountaineer (though you may, if it is your one and only). Abide by the rules, however, which are explained below.

The Mountain

Wifey had been lost in the jungle for days. He was on his last rations and his hip-flask had been empty for a day already, and, to make matters worse, he had seen no animals to eat for nigh a week. If it kept on, he'd have to start eating the savages he was killing--a thought that disgusted him outright. Murdering them in cold blood is one thing; eating them, something entirely seperate.

Things did not continue, though. It was then that he came upon a large waterfall, tumbling down the slope of a majestic mountain. Lapping up water ravenously, Wifey plunged into the river with gusto. Then, his thirst sated and his hip-flask full, he became curious about this behemoth rock that stands imperiously in the center of the island. Straight away he began to climb the rocks around the waterfall. From there, he explored the vast mountain, both the lush jungles on its ledges and the dark, cavernous tunnels that hide below it. He has been a dedicated mountaineer from that day forward, and he now invites all newcomers to the island to join him there.

The Rules

They're pretty simple.

  1. Natives on or inside the mountain must be on their best behavior. Mountaineers are allowed to attack natives without warning or reason, but it is preferred in the interest of general peace that they only attack natives as a way of identifying them, or in revenge.
  2. Outsiders, similarly, are to be on their best behavior--even pirates. They are not to be attacked unless they are causing trouble, however, unlike the natives. Killing members of opposite factions is acceptable, so long as they are not fellow Mountaineers.
  3. Mountaineers are not to attack one another, even if they are members of opposing factions. For example, members of the Royal Expedition and the Discordian Cargo Cult may not attack each other, if both are Mountaineers.

That one can be tricky, so here's an example to clarify.

Timmy is a member of the RE and a Mountaineer.
Jimmy is a member of the D.C.C. and a Mountaineer.
Jane is a member of the RE, but is not a Mountaineer. She is the token female of the example.
Tommy is a member of the D.C.C., but is not a Mountaineer.
Jimmy may attack Jane at any time, because Jane is a member of an opposing clan. Similalry, Timmy may kill Tommy--even in Jimmy's presence. Jimmy and Timmy must treat each other with utmost respect and comraderie, however, at all times.

It is preferred that Mountaineers spend their days in, on, and around the Mountain. Still, because there are no efficient places on the mountain to find weapons and medical supplies, regular supply runs are to be expected.
