When you create a character for Shartak, you are asked to choose what the character's background is, e.g. soldier, explorer, native villager, etc. This is known as the character class. Native characters

  • Scout
Has 50 HP.
Starts with berries and a bottle of water.
  • Warrior
Has 60 HP.
Starts with a loaded blowpipe and a spare poison dart.
  • Villager
Has 55 HP.
Starts with a banana and a healing herb.
  • Shaman
Has 50 HP.
Starts with nothing.

Outsider characters

  • Explorer
Has 50 HP.
Starts with a bottle of water and a GPS unit.
  • Soldier
Has 60 HP.
Starts with a rifle and a spare rifle bullet.
Can learn rifle skills (others apparently cannot?)
